The aim of a Backgammon match is to move your checkers around the game board and bear them from the board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your chips is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Enthusiasts use a number of plans in the different stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game technique is to bring all your chips into your inside board and pull them off as quick as you could. This tactic concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your opponent’s chips. The best time to use this strategy is when you think you can move your own chips quicker than the opponent does: when 1) you have less checkers on the game board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to stop the opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you’ve created the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can shift your other pieces quickly off the board. The player really should also have a good plan when to extract and shift the chips that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opponent uses the same blocking strategy.

As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and pure luck. The goal is to move your checkers safely around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to round out your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely stop any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to block the activity of your opponent, the opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy relies on alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.

The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and get them from the board faster than your opponent who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. How far you will be able to move your chips is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and how you move your pieces are determined by your overall playing strategies. Enthusiasts use different strategies in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to entice all your pieces into your inner board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your checkers with no time spent to hit or stop your opponent’s pieces. The best time to employ this technique is when you believe you might be able to shift your own pieces faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by the title, is to stop the opponent’s pieces, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your checkers rapidly. As soon as you have created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can shift your other chips rapidly off the game board. You really should also have a good strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when your opponent utilizes the same blocking strategy.
