As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the game board to your inner board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move her pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a bad position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions with hope to improve your odds of winning, however the Back Game technique utilizes different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
