The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part One
September 16th, 2024 by Princess

The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and bear them off the board faster than your opponent who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. How far you can shift your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and how you move your chips are determined by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use different plans in the different stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your pieces into your home board and get them off as quick as you could. This plan concentrates on the pace of advancing your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The best time to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your chips have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The primary aim of the blocking technique, by the title, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not fretting about moving your chips quickly. After you have established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can move your other chips rapidly from the board. You should also have a clear strategy when to extract and shift the checkers that you utilized for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when the opposition uses the same blocking technique.
