The Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 1
August 21st, 2023 by Princess

The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and get those pieces from the game board faster than your opposing player who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a round in Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and good luck. How far you can shift your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and how you shift your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use different techniques in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your pieces into your home board and get them off as quick as you can. This strategy focuses on the pace of moving your chips with little or no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The best time to use this tactic is when you think you can move your own checkers faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to stop your competitor’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other checkers rapidly off the board. You really should also have a good plan when to back off and shift the chips that you utilized for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opponent uses the same blocking technique.
